Academic NIHR Clinical Lecturer in General Psychiatry OR Old Age Psychiatry - Fixed Term


Applications are invited for a new Academic Clinical Lectureship in General Psychiatry OR Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge funded by the NIHR - IAT programme. This post offers an unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality research within an outstanding academic and clinical environment.


Applicants should be medically qualified, have full GMC registration, and already hold or have submitted a PhD/DPhil/MD.


The appointment will be for four years, and, if you do not already hold a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of application, any offer will be subject to confirmation of the award before commencement of the post.


Candidates who have not submitted their PhD/MD at the time of application will not be considered.


The post must be taken up by 31 March 2020.

Salary Scales

£33,790pa - £59,765pa StR

£33,221pa - £57,522pa SpR

£37,935pa- £48,075pa Nodal (ST3 and above)


The following post is available with the research element concentrated on a specific research theme: General Psychiatry OR Old Age Psychiatry - theme: Mental Health

This is an integrated appointment between the University and Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Clinical Consultant Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.
