The position is located at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund.


The service will be associated with the position of specialist physician / senior physician at the Division of Psychiatry, Skånevård Sund. Division of Psychiatry is a joint organization for Region Skåne's specialized adult psychiatry, legal psychiatry, addiction care and child and adolescent psychiatry. Through the Department of Psychiatry, a combined care offer can be offered to Skåne's population. The division has approximately 3,000 employees.


Science Center for Clinical Psychiatry (VKP) is a unit within the Psychiatry Division, which cooperates with Lund University. The purpose of the CCP is to effectively facilitate collaboration between the academy and the Department of Psychiatry to provide today's patients with high quality care and to develop the medical care for tomorrow's patients.




The work includes research in the field of clinical suicide research and teaching at the medical program at Lund University. The holder of the service is also expected to perform other tasks normally associated with a professorship, such as administrative duties, internal and external trust assignments, and to represent the topic nationally and internationally.


The employee will also contribute to the development of clinical psychiatry and the suicide prevention work in Region Skåne and to work for a continuing dynamic academic environment at Lund University in the field of psychiatry. Clinical service at the specialist level at VKP and the field of adult psychiatry in Lund is included in the duties.

Qualifying to be employed as a professor is the one who has demonstrated both scientific and educational skills according to the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, Section 3.


The applicant shall be a specialist in psychiatry and have a multi-year experience in clinical work at the specialist level and experience in clinical management.


Since the employment as a professor is associated with employment as a specialist doctor, the applicant is required for the medical profession to have the necessary knowledge in Swedish (according to the National Board of Health, which also approves the corresponding knowledge in Scandinavian languages).

Headquarters for research grants awarded in competition as well as broad competence and leadership skills in clinical suicide research and clinical suicide prevention are meritorious, as well as extended research abroad.


Furthermore, the applicant must have demonstrated pedagogical skills of importance in teaching as well as in supervision, both on the basis of / advanced and postgraduate education in the field of psychiatry.


Particular consideration will be given to the applicant's proven ability to lead and develop cooperation between university and healthcare. Furthermore, the general ability to lead and develop, administrative skills and ability to interact with the surrounding society is more credible.
