Clinical Research Worker in Psychosis Studies (3 yr FTC)

The successful candidate will play a key role in an innovative study to investigate a novel mechanism underlying the biology of schizophrenia, testing a key theory of schizophrenia, and evaluate an innovative approach to treatment.

The study involves the collection of clinical and multimodal neuroimaging data (MRI & PET) of the immune system from patients, who will then receive an innovative new treatment used for the first time in schizophrenia, and clinical assessment to determine response to treatment.


Working closely with the Lead Investigators, the successful candidate will ensure the successful conduct and completion of the research programme. He/she will contribute to the collection and analysis of data, and play a key role in the assessment and monitoring of patients, which will constitute clinical sessions and may count towards training. He/she will also work closely with other research staff in the project and foster
effective collaborative working relationships with the local early intervention services for psychosis. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop their own research interests.


The post would be ideal for a clinician with an interest in cutting edge neuroimaging and psychopharmacology. There is potential to develop a project for an MD/ PhD for a suitable candidate.


The salary will be paid at Grade Clinical Research, £31,931 to £40,491 per annum, plus £2,162 per annum London Allowance.


This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 3 years.


This is a Full Time post – 100% full time equivalent.


The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview. Interviews are scheduled to be held on the 19th January 2018.
