    Under the direction of the Trauma Section’s Clinical Coordinator, this position will be involved in all aspects of our law enforcement-mental health partnership, including direct day to day clinical CD-CP operations that support the CD-CP law enforcement mental health collaboration including but not limited to serving as a point of contact with local law enforcement, schedule and coordinate various training activities for both local law enforcement and clinical staff, attend meetings with local law enforcement in support of various projects, attend weekly COMSTAT meetings,  etc.  

    Join on-call rotation, as both primary and back-up clinical responder with the Child Development-Community Policing Program, expected to take call once a month

    Participate and help to coordinate weekly ride-alongs to provide home visits to those children and families at high risk following trauma exposure

    Participate in the development and delivery of various outreach initiatives on behalf of the section in relation to the work outlined above, e.g. lectures, website development, informational brochures, manuals, toolkits, webinars, etc.

    Participate in the development and evaluation of patient engagement protocols to be implemented by trauma clinicians and other clinicians throughout the center or other communities.

    Engage in national law enforcement activities, outreach and trainings, based on lessons learned from engagement with local law enforcement

    Present on the work and/or findings of the section at local, state and national meetings and conferences.  Occasional travel will be required.

    Participate and help to coordinate collaboration with YNHH Emergency Department regarding 1) trauma-focused training for medical and social work staff and, 2) improved referral and outreach approaches for Trauma Section clinical services.

    Maintain clinical caseload of 15-20 cases.  This is subject to change, dependent on the needs of the section.

    Participate and support CFTSI implementation and dissemination efforts, including providing supervision for Child Study Center based CFTSI trained clinicians




    Doctorate in Psychology or Master’s in Social Work

    License-eligible in the State of Connecticut

    Training in psychodynamic approaches to assessment and treatment of children and adults

    Expertise in providing therapeutic interventions to children and families who have experienced a potentially traumatic event

    Experience providing acute trauma focused mental health services

    Training and experience in implementing/providing Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

    Demonstrated experience in evidence-based treatments including CFTSI and TF-CBT

    Demonstrated experience working with community partners, including New Haven Department of Police Service, as well as with CT Department of Children and Families, Yale New Haven Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department, Yale Child Study Center Outpatient Clinic, and other outside mental providers.
