Job PositionThe Department of Educational Studies (www.edst.purdue.edu) at Purdue University invites applications for a one-year on campus Visiting Assistant Professor position in Educational Psychology to begin in August 2025, with the potential for extension for a second year. The ideal candidate will have scholarly and applied interests in educational psychology, with a focus on cognition, learning, development, and/or motivation contextualized in educational settings, such as classroom and/or informal learning environments. The Faculty of Educational Psychology and Research Methodology program area are committed to advancing knowledge through their scholarship and preparing scholars to be leaders in research that addresses significant educational and psychological problems. Our internationally recognized faculty members offer students strong, individualized mentoring and opportunities to develop their skills to design and conduct research. The Educational Psychology program offers a Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a concentration in Educational Psychology and Research Methodology, and a Master of Science with a concentration in Educational Psychology and Research Methodology. Both are residential programs. The larger Department of Educational Studies in which this program is situated has faculty engaged in the discovery, application, and dissemination of new knowledge centered on three key themes: Educating Diverse Learners, STEM Learning, and Effective Teaching.
The successful candidate would be welcome to participate in the COE’s faculty mentoring program and receive mentoring from senior faculty.
