About the Position

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at UTM invites applications for a full-time teaching stream appointment in Foundations of Psychology.
The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with responsibilities focused on undergraduate teaching, curriculum innovation, and pedagogical leadership.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment (or shortly thereafter) and must demonstrate:

  • A record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.

  • Experience in lecture preparation and delivery, lab-based/practical instruction, and curriculum development.

  • A strong commitment to pedagogical innovation, student mentorship, and evidence-based teaching practices.

Preference will be given to candidates with strong organizational and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to integrate practical/lab components across psychology curricula.


Teaching Excellence and Evaluation

Evidence of teaching excellence should be demonstrated through:

  • A comprehensive teaching dossier (statement of teaching philosophy, sample syllabi, course materials).

  • Teaching evaluations and evidence of pedagogical innovation.

  • Letters of reference (at least two focused on teaching effectiveness).
