The teaching is implemented in the Bachelor's Psychology, the one-year Master's Social, Health and Organizational Psychology, the Research Master's Social and Health Psychology; and in the Bachelor's and Research Master's Artificial Intelligence (AI). The department also teaches courses at University College Utrecht and provides Teaching for Professionals. Teaching includes (large-scale) lectures, (small-scale) instruction meetings, and (individual) internships and thesis supervision, along with more general tasks of coordination and administration.

In terms of research, we are looking for new colleagues to strengthen our research programme in Social, Health and Organisational Psychology, which combines fundamental and applied approaches in three domains: motivation, performance and self-regulation. Themes studied within our group include:

  • work, performance and well-being;
  • diversity and inclusion;
  • self-regulation and behaviour change;
  • interpersonal relationships and radicalization.

Moreover, within our university, our group collaborates with other disciplines within the interdisciplinary strategic themes Institutions for Open Societies and Dynamics of Youth.

Our group is committed to team science, practices Open Science and aspires to have a diverse body of staff.

Qualifications

We believe individual and collective achievements should be in balance. That’s why we assess both individual and team performance. We stimulate good academic leadership at all levels. And last but not least we encourage researchers to share the results of scientific research with society so collectively we can achieve more and increase the university’s contribution to society.

We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues (m/f/x) who subscribe to the values above and meet the requirements below:

  • You are a team player and have strong interpersonal skills for building contact with colleagues and students.
  • You hold (or are working on) a PhD degree in the field of social, health, and/or organizational psychology, or a related field.
  • You hold a Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) or are willing to acquire one soon.
  • You have experience and skills in academic teaching.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating academic courses is an asset.
  • Your research profile shows a clear interest in research topics which both align with and complement those studied by our team.
  • You have scientific creativity and productivity, as demonstrated by recent publications in international peer-reviewed journals or peer-reviewed conferences.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English at an academic level.
  • You are willing to learn Dutch. We believe that understanding and speaking Dutch makes it easier to connect with colleagues. We offer free Dutch language courses.

Offer

We offer an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, social and dedicated team. We will guide you in your research and teaching tasks, which will help you develop your academic career. We offer a temporary position for one year (0.8 -1.0 FTE). After a positive evaluation at the end of the first year, the appointment will be made permanent.

The gross monthly salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €3,821 and €5,943 based on a full-time employment (scale 11/12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities).
The salary is supplemented with an annual holiday pay of 8%, and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% per year.
We also offer a pension scheme.

We encourage you to grow professionally, and we support a healthy work-life balance. That’s why we offer employment benefits such as professional development, leave arrangements, partially paid parental leave and sports. We also give you the opportunity to expand your terms of employment via the Employment Conditions Selection Model.

And that's not all. We are happy to have you as a new colleague and are happy to give you a warm welcome. To this end, we host a good introduction process for our new colleagues where we will introduce you and show you around our faculty and university.
