Consult-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatry Program Director Description The Program Director will oversee all aspects of the fellowship, including recruitment, selection, evaluation, and graduation of fellows, the clinical and didactic curriculum, as well as the supervision, advising, and mentoring of fellows. They will also ensure compliance with accreditation standards and institutional requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a graduate medical education setting and a minimum of five years of experience practicing C-L Psychiatry. This position carries a faculty appointment within the Department of Psychiatry at the assistant or associate professor level, depending upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience, on our clinician educator-scholar track. Responsibilities will be split between the Program Director role and clinical work in our Psychiatry Consult Service, managing the evaluation of patients on medical and surgical units at Yale New Haven Hospital and working collaboratively with a team of advanced practice providers, social workers, trainees, and clinical nurse specialists. This position includes up to a full day per week of protected administrative/academic time, in addition to the dedicated non-clinical time for the Program Director role. The Psychological Medicine Section consists of traditional and proactive psychiatric consult services on medical and surgical inpatient units and 16 integrated psychiatry and behavioral health programs in diverse medical and surgical outpatient settings.
