Description

The Yale Child Study Center, in partnership with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH), has an opening for a full-time pediatric psychologist to join our growing team of pediatric psychologists.  Successful candidates will be appointed as Assistant or Associate Professor on the Academic Clinician tenure track and focus on the care of patients with eating disorders.  The psychologist will work as part of an interdisciplinary collaborative team of pediatric hospitalists, the child psychiatry consultation/liaison (C/L) service, nursing, social work, nutrition, and child life. In addition to providing the direct clinical care for patients with eating disorders, as part of this role, the psychologist will take the lead with the programmatic development of more robust eating disorder programming within the Yale Child Study Center. The position will be split between direct clinical service within the hospital-based system collaborating with the C/L team to care for patients requiring medical stabilization for the complications associated with their disordered eating. They will provide direct mental health support to these patients and their families during the refeeding and stabilization phase and will liaison with the inpatient medical teams and providers who interface with these patients. The remaining effort will be devoted to clinical care pathway development, education, and clinical consultation within YNHCH and YCSC. The psychologist will also utilize clinical time to train and supervise medical students, residents, fellows and other trainees.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess a doctoral degree in psychology, a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or specialty eating disorder care and be licensed or license-eligible in Connecticut.  Training and experience in collaborative, integrated behavioral health models of service delivery in specialty medical clinics are highly preferred, as well as robust experience in the treatment of patients with a range of disordered eating presentations.  Demonstrated success in program development is highly preferred.  We welcome applicants with interests in program development, quality improvement, and training.
