Position DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. UC San Diego Psychiatry faculty provide exceptional clinical care, cutting-edge research, and educational excellence. We seek outstanding applicants for non-tenured/non-tenure track General, Geriatric, Child & Adolescent, and Subspecialty Psychiatry faculty positions with clinician-educator or clinician-scholar interests. The successful candidates’ clinical focus will align with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including—but not limited to—general adult, geriatrics, child and adolescent, consult-liaison, and addiction psychiatry, as well as specialty programs such as eating disorders, community or public sector psychiatry, college mental health, women’s mental health, neuromodulation, and post-traumatic stress. Clinical settings can include inpatient and outpatient, including intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. The successful candidates will also teach, which may include lecturing and mentoring in various educational programs, embrace a culture of excellence and innovation, and contribute to clinical scholarship and/or research. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
