DUTIES

Brief description of the project: 

Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL) is looking for a qualified content expert/curriculum consultant to update PSYC 2161 – Abornmal Pscyhology.

This course is designed to introduce students to the study of human behavioural disorders. Topics include behaviours ranging from functional to dysfunctional, the principles of psychological assessment, and professionals who might be involved in the assessment process and the methods they use. Psychological, biological, and sociocultural approaches to understanding human behaviour are reviewed and a wide variety of behavioural disorders are described. Case studies are presented and interpreted, and recommended treatments are discussed.

Course Maintenance Deliverables:

The content expert/curriculum consultant will work under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Curriculum Services department of Open Learning to complete the following course maintenance:

1. To update assessments and answer keys within the current assessment structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Criteria for assignment of work:

 

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Relevant educational and professional credentials in academic psychology (PhD required).
  • Appropriate and current knowledge, experience, and content expertise, preferably including distance education and post-secondary education experience.
  • Recent and substantial experience in psychology.
  • Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and consistent style, with grammatical accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and consultative manner.
  • Experience or training in facilitating online instruction an asset.
