University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) DescriptionThe Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Clinical Psychology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed as Director of the UTSC Psychology Clinic, housed in the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) at UTSC. The Director appointment will be for an initial five-year term, renewable following a favourable review. The successful candidate will also be affiliated with the Graduate Department of Psychological Clinical Science, which offers a CPA-accredited graduate program in Clinical Psychology grounded in the clinical science model, integrating research with clinical practice and emphasizing evidence-based practice, interpersonal and metacognitive competencies, and collaborative education. UTSC is implementing its Strategic Plan: Inspiring Inclusive Excellence, and consistent with that plan, the Department especially welcomes applications from candidates who self-identify as Indigenous or as having lived experience in Black or other racialized (persons of colour) communities. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from underrepresented groups across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Clinic Details and Director ResponsibilitiesThis position is part of a transformative initiative at UTSC, establishing a new Psychology Clinic within SAMIH, scheduled to open in 2026–27. SAMIH will train future healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, and clinical psychologists—within an integrated, community-focused model of care. As the inaugural Psychology Clinic Director, the successful candidate will play a leading role in shaping the clinic’s model of care and supervision, and in developing an interdisciplinary training environment supporting both graduate education and community mental health.
