Job Description• Teach foundational undergraduate psychology courses as assigned. • Develop, prepare and deliver course materials, assessments and examinations, ensuring quality teaching practices, and application of best practices in higher education. • Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate students in the psychology programme. • Participate in curriculum review, course development, and continuous improvement of the psychology programme. • Employ instructional technologies (e-learning platforms, blended/hybrid teaching, learning management systems). • Contribute to departmental, college and university service, including committees, student events, outreach, and community engagement. • Engage in professional development activities in teaching excellence and the field of psychology to maintain currency in pedagogy and discipline. • Collaborate with colleagues across departments for interdisciplinary teaching and integration of psychological perspectives in broader programmes. • Support the department’s mission to enhance student learning, promote ethical and culturally-responsive practice, and uphold university standards.
Minimum Qualification• A Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline (e.g., Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology) from a recognised/accredited institution. • Demonstrated university-level teaching experience (preferably at the undergraduate level) in psychology or related behavioural sciences. • Evidence of excellent teaching ability and commitment to student learning and success in a multicultural higher-education environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (the medium of instruction at UAEU). • Familiarity with instructional technologies.
Preferred Qualification• MSc/PhD in Psychology • A record of curriculum development and innovative teaching techniques (e.g., active learning, flipped classroom, experiential learning). • Experience working in culturally diverse settings and/or international educational contexts. • Experience with e-learning platforms, online course delivery and digital pedagogy.
