Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Applicants should have an outstanding research portfolio in Systems Neuroscience, with a focus on cutting-edge approaches to address fundamental neuroscience questions at the systems level. Candidates using behavioral experimentation, electrophysiology, brain imaging, neurogenomics, theoretical and computational methods, or novel neurotechnologies for monitoring and manipulating brain functions are highly encouraged to apply. The work should be positioned at the forefront of innovation, advancing the boundaries of knowledge in the field. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work employs an integrative approach to understand behavior and cognition at the neuronal to network level. Research work with translational relevance is a plus. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, engaging with faculty members across fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, and more. We seek individuals who can catalyze collaborations across disciplines to solve complex scientific problems.
Qualifications
We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology or a closely related discipline. Postdoctoral research experience preferred. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who will contribute to diversity and equity in higher education and research.
