Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Applied Psychology Cranfield University United States

The School of Management has long been recognised as a centre of excellence for Organisational Behaviour and Organisational Psychology teaching scholarship research and learning. It has never been out of the FT ranking of the “top of their class” (Top 10 in the world for OB).

Due to expansion in demand we have been expanding the faculty team and now wish to appoint a Lecturer. As a wholly postgraduate institution which is aligned to business it is important that applicants have professional and psychological credibility.

We have ambitious plans for the Organizational Behaviour and Applied Psychology group including new cross campus masters programmes and the creation of doctoral pathways in Organisational Psychology for those already at chartered level. We believe psychological understanding and application to working life and organizations is fundamental and expect the person appointed to share our enthusiasm.

The successful candidate would initially be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision on Masters and MBA programme as well as potentially on modules across other postgraduate programmes. You would be mentored and supported in this role. There is some leeway for the right candidate to craft the role make up and determine the balance of research and teaching activities. One of the key attractions of the role is that you will be able to follow your own interests; we expect that you will include colleagues in an inclusive fashion in order that a collective high quality of working life is enhanced.

Reporting to the Professor in Organisational Psychology you should have a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline preferably Psychology or an OB related subject (masters or doctorate or be close to submission). You may have some academic or professional publications or papers in submission or perhaps have presented at conferences or seminars. You will have some teaching experience or some programme or executive development experience. Cranfield values industrial experience and therefore any practical experience of professional work in organizations would be very welcome.

We are keen on professional development and would encourage the person appointed to work towards Chartered status HCPC professional recognition P/G qualifications in Teaching in HE Fellowship of the HEA or doctoral work (toward PhD or DBA) as may be applicable. We are keen that people are able to develop research interests though these may emerge over time.

For an informal discussion please contact Professor Richard Kwiatkowski Professor of Organisational Psychology on +44 (0)1234 750111 Ext. 3223 or (E); r.kwiatkowski@cranfield.ac.uk.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.
