We are looking for a Teaching Associate to join the School of Psychology to deliver high-quality teaching in one or more of the core areas of Psychology.

We believe that diverse teams deliver the highest quality teaching, research, and student experience. To achieve our vision of being among the top-ranked Schools in all areas for research, knowledge exchange, education, and student experience, we are recruiting people into our staff community who we believe will act as role models for the next generation of psychologists. We understand that our teaching and research are enhanced by having a diversity of opinions that enriches our collegiate community by the sharing of new ideas, lived experiences, broad perspectives, and different ways of solving problems.

You will contribute to the development of undergraduate students, mainly through the creation and delivery of workshops, tutorials, and seminars and supervision of project students at the undergraduate or masters level. You will also contribute to lectures or seminars in one or more core areas of psychology.

Candidates should have experience in one or more areas of the core British Psychology Society curriculum as well as quantitative and/or qualitative research methods. We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience with developmental or social psychology.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term two-year contract. Arrangements for job share may be considered.

The School is developing a curriculum around active and flipped learning both online and in person. You will have completed, or be working toward completion of, a PhD or equivalent in Psychology or a related area, have experience of teaching, and a completed BPS accredited undergraduate degree (or equivalent conversion or overseas course) is desirable.

You will receive a generous holiday entitlement and a benefits package with a contributory pension scheme as well as options enabling you to save money on childcare, shopping, and services.

The School of Psychology at the University of Nottingham offers a range of highly competitive courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as PhDs and professional degrees. Graduates from Nottingham are highly sought after and we are committed to providing outstanding, international education to talented students.

The School of Psychology is situated within the Faculty of Science. We are proud to have been placed in the Top 100 in the most recent QS World University Rankings for Psychology. In the REF 2014, we (alongside Psychiatry and Neuroscience) were ranked in the top 10 in the UK for research power. You will be joining a school with a high-quality and exciting research and teaching environment with outstanding facilities. The School is proud to hold an Athena Swan Silver Award.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Eileen Salter, email Eileen.Salter@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
