Specific Purpose Whole-Time Post

(anticipated duration September 2031)


UCC wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Applied Psychology. The post requires expertise in the areas of cognitive psychology and quantitative research methods. Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will be expected to: develop research compatible with one of the key University Futures Research clusters (e.g. Children; Collective Social Futures; Ageing and Brain Science, etc.) and aligned thematic research areas of the school (People and Technology, Mental Health and Wellbeing, or Healthy Development and Ageing); teach on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research; and contribute to the collegial functioning of the School.

The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate in Psychology and will be eligible for membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland. Evidence of research expertise, appropriate to the grade of the post, in the discipline of psychology and contribution to the broader field of psychology would also be requisite for appointment. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative School of Applied Psychology immersed in the education of students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supported by a vibrant research culture.

Salary

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Below the Bar) Salary Scale: €43,028 - €73,909 (Scale B) / €45,116 - €70,327 (Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
