Applications are invited for a permanent full time post in the Department of Psychology. We have a policy of linking our teaching, research and innovation, and are seeking highly motivated and collegial individuals who are passionate about their research and who can deliver high quality, engaging teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in the area of psychology and law/forensic psychology who enhance and/or extend the Department's research and innovation profile. We are keen to recruit a strong researcher who conducts theory-driven research in applied memory (e.g. eyewitness identification, false/recovered memory) but welcome applications from the wider psychology and law domain also.

 

Our Department comprises four research centres/groups; the International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology, the Centre for Situated Action and Communication, the Centre for Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology, and the Health and Well-Being Research Group. We are committed to the values of open and reproducible science and are working to support and encourage transparent research practices. We will encourage candidates to discuss their past and/or planned research approach in the context of ongoing discussion in the sciences about research practices.

 

The successful candidate will have demonstrable evidence of research excellence, contribute to the Department’s submission to the REF 2021 and make a significant contribution to the teaching of Psychology at undergraduate level (which includes our BSc Forensic Psychology course) and to our MSc Forensic Psychology course.
