POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin, is seeking applicants for a full-time associate or assistant professor neuro-oncologist to join our faculty. This position would be active in multi-disciplinary teams including neurology, medical oncology, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, neuropsychology, neuropathology, and palliative medicine.

The Department of Neurology is a department of almost 60 faculty and 17 advanced practice providers located at 2 main sites: University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and 20 S. Park. Weekly grand rounds take place at the UW location. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care for a Wisconsin and northern Illinois. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

The successful candidate would be involved in clinical and translational neuro-oncology research providing exceptional options for patients to participate in clinical trials, neural genomics, and precision medicine. Person would participate in clinical research conducted in the UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC)

Duties include approximately 60% direct patient care at UW Health's main campus, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service attending; proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants; 30-40% protected time to develop a research or education program and to engage in related scholarly activity. Teaching responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents and fellows, mentoring graduate students and trainees, and teaching continuing education programs for physicians and the public.

DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:

MD, DO or MD/PhD required

 

MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

Clinical and research interest in primary and metastatic CNS tumors required.

Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in neurology with neurological cancer clinical research focus preferred.

Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

 

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:

Must be Board eligible or board certified in Neurology.

Must be eligible for Wisconsin medical license.
