With support from the University administration, the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin is pleased to invite applications for the following full-time, non-tenure-track position in our Master’s Program in Counseling with a starting date of August 2019.

For this position, we are seeking a highly organized person who will help manage and monitor all aspects of the Counselor Education program, which has specializations in school counseling and higher education counseling. Responsibilities will include teaching content courses for the Counselor Education program, program coordination including admissions, advising, student evaluations, practicum placement and supervision. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in school counseling and experience teaching and supervising school counseling students. Successful applicants will also demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse communities, culturally responsive counseling practices, and social justice, as well as have experience and/or interest in advising and curriculum development.

The Counseling Program is located within the Department of Educational Psychology, currently ranked #5 according to the US News and Report. This program prepares students to serve as culturally competent, caring, and ethically responsible counselors to work in a variety of roles within academic settings, including schools (K-12) and post-secondary educational institutions (community colleges, colleges, and universities). We strive to prepare our graduates to advocate for every student to receive the highest quality education and promote the development of students’ academic, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

 

 

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position will: (1) have a doctorate in counseling or a closely related field; (2) be licensed, license-eligible and/or certified in related fields (counseling, psychology, or school counseling); (3) have experience in teaching or supervision in academic settings (K-12, college readiness, higher education).   

This is a full-time non-tenure track position. Salary for the position is commensurate with experience and background.
