Post Doc in Target Validation in Parkinson’s Disease
Catholic University of Leuven
Belgium

The laboratory for Neurobiology and gene therapy, headed by Prof. Baekelandt focuses on preclinical Parkinson’s Disease research and has played a pioneering role in recent ground-breaking research, demonstrating a prion like behaviour of the α-synuclein protein. Responsibilities

The Baekelandt lab is involved in a long-standing collaboration with the lab of Prof. Vangheluwe related to two novel genetically validated pathways involved in Parkinson’s disease (see Van Veen et al, Nature 2020 Feb and Martin et al, Acta Neuropathologica, 2020 Mar 14). Based on this research collaboration, a joint research project will be initiated for which we are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated junior postdoc to join this multidisciplinary project. The candidate will execute and coordinate in vivo studies and studies in primary neuronal cell cultures with a central role of viral vector technology.
