The School of Psychiatry is widely reputed as the pre-eminent psychiatric research department in the country, and one of the leading university groups internationally. It is located at the UNSW teaching hospitals at various metropolitan sites in the Sydney region and in rural New South Wales.


About the role


    Academic Level A: $75, 069 - $100, 090 plus 9.5% superannuation and leave loading

    Full-time, Fixed Term appointment for 12 months


The primary purpose of this role is to provide research expertise in projects related to analytical epidemiology within consortia projects run by the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) at UNSW Sydney.  The STROKOG, COSMIC and other consortia are studying the process of human ageing to determine the factors that influence healthy ageing and age-related cognitive decline, including dementia.


The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for coordinating and conducting analysis of datasets of three major longitudinal studies and other associated projects to enhance the scientific output from these studies.

About you


To be successful in this role you will have:


    A PhD in Statistics, Psychology or Related Discipline

    An excellent academic track record

    Demonstrated experience in the area of behavioural science, medical research or related field

    Demonstrated and proven experience in the use of statistical packages such as SPSS

    Demonstrated experience in writing high quality scientific papers and technical reports

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills
