Position Overview The Emory Autism Center (EAC) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Emory University School of Medicine, beginning July 1, 2026. This is a one-year fellowship with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The fellow will receive comprehensive training and supervision in the provision of supports and services for transition-age autistic individuals, including opportunities to accrue supervised hours toward licensure in Psychology. Program Focus The Fellow will participate primarily in the Emory Oaks Program, a college autism support program designed for autistic students pursuing degrees at Emory University. Responsibilities will include providing Support Navigation services, which encompass individualized coaching, mentoring, advising, and connecting within a neurodiversity-affirming framework. In addition, the Fellow may contribute to: Social and group programming Research and evaluation projects Transition Services (Quest Program) School-based consultation and training (Monarch Program) Collaborations with other EAC programs serving autistic adults Job Description Design and conduct research within the specified field under supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI). Receive advanced training to develop research and professional independence. Develop and evaluate experiments; prepare manuscripts for publication. Contribute new ideas to promote current research directions. Operate specialized equipment as required. Train and supervise research staff as appropriate. Participate in teaching techniques and mentoring. Appointments are typically one year, renewable pending satisfactory progress and available funding. Total appointment duration may not exceed five years. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D., M.D., Sc.D., etc.) in an appropriate field. Strong scientific writing and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams. Must reside in the state of Georgia and be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible, hybrid schedule. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Special Education, or a related applied field. Strong experience in assessment and intervention with autistic individuals. Experience working with autistic young adults, including individual and group psychotherapy. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Candidates with neurodivergent identities are encouraged to apply. Additional Information This hybrid role allows some remote work but requires on-site presence in Atlanta, GA, based on departmental needs.
