Summary Description

Two NIH-supported postdoctoral positions in computational neuroscience are available at Columbia University in the laboratory of Catherine Schevon, in the Epilepsy Division of the Department of Neurology. The positions center on an collaborative, NIH-funded project investigating the cellular underpinnings of human seizures, utilizing both computational modeling approaches and a unique data set of invasive brain recordings with simultaneous EEG and single unit activity. The project involves an interdisciplinary group of investigators with deep collective experience in computational epilepsy questions, at Harvard University (Sydney Cash, epilepsy), Boston University (Mark Kramer, mathematical statistics), and University of Chicago (Wim van Drongelen, computational modeling) as well as Catherine Schevon (epilepsy, biomedical signal processing and epilepsy neuroscience).

 

 

Minimum Degree Required

M.D and/or PhD

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a background in interdisciplinary neuroscience research and computational methods, and an interest in epilepsy. Biophysical modeling expertise is a plus.
