Applications are invited for a full-time Principal Lecturer post in Psychology. The successful candidate will take on the role of Subject Director and play a leading role in managing and developing the academic and business activities of  Psychology  within the School of Psychology, Sociology and Politics, including all aspects of learning and teaching, research and knowledge exchange, the student experience, and stakeholder, client and community engagement. 

The Subject Director will also take responsibility for line management of the academic staff team, along with some budgetary responsibilities, and report directly to, and work closely with, the Head of School in providing strategic leadership and vision in taking the School's academic portfolio forward. 

We are looking for an enterprising individual whose teaching and research expertise complement our diverse and hard-working team, and we welcome applicants from all fields of psychology. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate an established research programme that aligns with one of our four research themes: Learning and Development, Health and Wellbeing, Society and Environment, and Creativity and Cognition.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, by delivering taught modules, as well as supervising student projects and PhD students. Knowledge and experience of online provision and development will be an advantage.

Applicants should have a doctorate in Psychology, extensive experience of teaching in the University sector, and a track record of research and publications commensurate with the level of appointment, including evidence of previous research funding and knowledge exchange activity. Experience of leading academic teams and/or programmes will be an advantage.
