The job holder develops the professorship in close cooperation with the existing research groups of the UPD Bern and others with competitive third-party funding. He / she actively participates in student education in psychiatry and assumes leadership roles in a clinical focus. An integrative personality is the prerequisite for strengthening cooperation with neuro-center clinics. The expansion of synergies with university centers such as CNB (Clinical Neuroscience Bern), SITEM (Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine), BCPM (Berne Center for Precision Medicine) and ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research) is desired.

The job holder is a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy, has extensive clinical experience in the entire field of psychiatry as well as optimal leadership experience at a university hospital. He / she has an internationally recognized research activity in the field of translational psychosis research with competitive third-party funding. A high degree of commitment in training and in the promotion of junior scientists is required.
For the extraordinary professorship, the habilitation or an equivalent academic performance is required. In the case of promising preliminary work in research and teaching, the position may also be filled as an assistant professorship with tenure track under the open-rank procedure without this requirement.
