We wish to recruit a highly productive, motivated and ambitious health psychologist to lead the Aberdeen Health Psychology Group which is a key part of the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) leading and supporting medical and health research in a wide range of priority areas.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record in winning grants, leading a research group, publishing in high impact journals and providing academic leadership in research and teaching.

Aberdeen has a rare combination of internationally recognised strengths in biomedical and population-based research and robust partnerships exist between clinical academics, medical scientists, health service researchers and colleagues in the healthcare professions in primary and secondary care.   


We wish to appoint a Professor or Reader in Health Psychology with a strong research background who wishes to further develop an already successful academic career in the speciality.  To enable the development of a research programme, support will be provided.  


Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 salary scale £51,630 – £58,089 per annum for an appointment made at Reader level and a competitive remuneration package will be available for exceptional candidates considered for appointment at Professorial level.
