Research Assistant in Psychology UCL Institute of Neurology, Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging (WTCN), UCL Institute of Neurology, under the supervision of Professor Eleanor Maguire. The WTCN is a world leader in structural and functional neuroimaging, EEG, MEG, and neuropsychology with three research-dedicated 3T MRI scanners, an MEG machine and an EEG laboratory. The post is based in the Maguire Memory Lab, one of the core research groups within the WTCN. The post holder will contribute to a project that aims to characterise the relationships between a range of different memory types, both subjectively and objectively, explicitly and implicitly, relating the variables to each other and to structural and functional MRI measures. Applicants should have an MSc in psychology, neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience or neuroscience (or equivalent qualification or experience), and experience of executing psychology experiments with research participants. Meticulous organisational and project management skills are essential, as is experience of working with databases (inputting and recording information). Applicants should also have a demonstrated ability to perform statistical analysis using SPSS (including data transformation, linear regression, and ANOVA), as well as experience of Excel. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills are also a requirement. The post is available from June 2016 and is funded by the Wellcome Trust to April 2017 in the first instance. Starting salary is on the UCL Grade 6b scale in the range £29,485 - £31,091 pa, including London Allowance.
