SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Applicants must satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • Postgraduate qualification (Ph. D. or Psych. D.) in Clinical Psychology or equivalent;
  • Considerable experience in a clinical setting;
  • Teaching/Lecturing in psychology at the tertiary level.
Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:
  • Valid practitioner's license as a Clinical Psychologist or equivalent;
  • Certificate in University Teaching;
  • Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students;
  • Evidence of prior grant acquisition;
  • Administrative Experience within an Academic Institution;
  • Evidence of Curriculum Development (face to face or distant delivery modes);
  • Evidence of contribution to the Public Service OR field of Study;
  • Possess a research record commensurate to their academic career as demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals with appreciable impact factors.
The successful candidate will be required to:
  • Teach, conduct research and participate in the strategic planning and management of teaching and learning, including curricula development programmes within the Department and wider Faculty;
  • Lecture at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, train and supervise postgraduate students;
  • Supervise the psychological practice of undergraduate (MBBS) and graduate students (MSc, DM & PhD);
  • Operate and supervise the Psychology Clinic;
  • Provide psychological consultation services for UHWI patients and external agencies upon request;
  • Provide other psychological services (e.g. psychology tests, therapeutic interventions) as needed;
  • Contribute to the life of the University and to advance teaching, research and community outreach;
  • Develop a strong research programme in their area of specialization;
  • Participate in outreach activities at the Departmental/Faculty/Campus and University level.
