The Department of Psychology is a part of the Faculty for Social Sciences and is one of the largest departments at Stockholm University. Our courses span all levels from undergraduate to PhD and the department comprises over 160 members of staff. The department is divided into six research areas, including the Divisions of Biological Psychology and Clinical Psychology where this postdoctoral position is placed at. Project descriptionThe successful candidate is expected to participate in a project on how clinical psychologists’ ability to recognize and reflect on clients’ emotional reactions can be developed and improved. Empirical studies in the relevant part of the project are based on experimental studies and involve both behavioral and brain imaging data. Main responsibilitiesThe successful candidate is expected to contribute to the diferent phases of the research project, including data collection and scientific communication. Furthermore it is expected to conduct own research within the framework of the project and collaborate with researchers at the Department of Psychology, Stockholm University. Responsibilities include the implementation of the MR data collection and evaluation of functional MRI data. Qualification requirementsPostdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country. Assessment criteriaThe degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar. In the appointment process, special attention will be given to scientific quality as demonstrated by own research. Attention will also be paid to the experience of analyzing uni- and multivariate functional MRI data, as well as to cooperation and communication skills. Terms of employmentThe position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date 1 August 2016 or as per agreement.
