Summary Description The College of Arts and Sciences at Webster University Thailand (Bangkok Center, Sathorn) invites applications for a full-time, one year contract position at the assistant professor level in Social Psychology. Teaching is at undergraduate level and will likely include some tuition on our general education program. The successful candidate should take up the position summer/autumn 2016. Renewal of contract is subject to performance. This position is directly reporting to the Head of Dept for College of Arts and Sciences and is based in Cha-am Campus. Responsibilities & Duties The successful candidate will be expected to teach core and introductory courses in social psychology at the undergraduate level. Specialization is open but we have requirements Social Psychology, Drug and Chemical Dependency, Issues in Psychology and various electives. Electives and core courses in the candidate's specialization field are also required. Candidates must be committed to teaching in a diverse environment and adjusting to life in Southeast Asia. The candidate will be based full time at our Cha-am campus in Petchaburi (three hours south of Bangkok). Webster Thailand has students from over sixty nations and a diverse faculty body from around the world. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply but final selection will be based on the candidate's qualifications and their commensurability with the needs of Webster University Thailand and the psychology program. The candidate is also expected to take a proactive role for the further development of the social psychology major. This entails displaying initiative in terms of program delivery, responsiveness to student needs, liaising with administrative leadership both in Thailand and at our main campus in St Louis, Missouri. The candidate is expected to cooperate with administrative and accreditation requirements and engage constructively in promoting the program. The teaching load is eight courses per year.
