Responsibilities

A central feature of our feelings and emotions is that they change and fluctuate over time.  A thorough understanding of the time dynamics of emotion is therefore of key importance, both for advancing our theoretical knowledge about the nature of emotions and to obtain a more profound insight into their role in psychological well-being and psychopathology. This postdoc position is part of a larger longitudinal, multi-method project that aims to examine the patterns of emotional change that people experience in their daily lives, the processes that underlie such patterns, and, ultimately, how these patterns contribute to shaping their well-being or maladjustment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the supervisor and other team members in a research program aimed at understanding the process basis and predictive role of emotion dynamics in psychological well-being and maladjustment. The delineation of the specific research topic within the program will depend on several factors, including the expertise of the selected candidate.

Tasks include survey of relevant international literature, collecting data through experience sampling studies and experiments, performing data analyses, and communication of results through papers in international journals and presentations at international conferences.

Profile

The applicant must have a PhD, preferably in affectivesciences, a passion for research, a strong track record as evidenced byinternational scientific publications, and excellent English communication andwriting skills. The successful candidate has a background of research onemotion, well-being, and/or affect dynamics, and has strong expertise in theanalyses of intensive longitudinal data.

Offer

We offer a competitive salary with various additionalbenefits (in terms of holidays, health insurance, transport costs), excellentresearch facilities, and conference and travel budget. The postdoc position isoffered for a one-year period. The start date is as soon as possible.
