The Department of Psychology is a part of the Faculty for Social Sciences and is one of the largest departments at Stockholm University. Our courses span all levels from undergraduate to PhD and the department comprises over 160 members of staff. The department is divided into six research areas, including the Division of Cognitive Psychology and its Stockholmcognitionlab where this postdoctoral position is placed at. Project descriptionThe aim of the project is to develop neurocognitive model of individual differences in multiple task performance. The empirical studies of the project aim to advance our understanding of everyday multitasking using a combination of behavioral recording, brain imaging, and theoretical modelling. Main responsibilitiesThe successful candidate is expected to contribute to the diferent phases of the research project, including planning of empirical studies, data collection and scientific communication. Qualification requirementsPostdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience or related discipline. Graduate students who are in the final stages of their PhD will also be considered. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in experimental research in cognitive psychology and should have strong analytical skills. Experience of programming, cognitive training and brain imaging is also desirable. Assessment criteriaThe degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar. In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. The decision will also be based on the applicant’s ability to collaborate and communicate with others. Terms of employmentThe position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances.
