Postdoctoral Position in Neurophysiology Imperial College, Laboratory of Thomas Knopfel

A postdoctoral position is available working in the laboratory of Thomas Knopfel at the Imperial College London, UK. The post is funded by the NIH BRAIN initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Antic lab (http://antic.uchc.edu/) and the work aims at understanding neural circuit mechanism via optogenetic monitoring approaches (using genetically encoded voltage and calcium indicators).

 

The postdoctoral fellow is expected to have strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. Candidates must have a Ph.D., and those with a background in neuroscience are particularly encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate should have experience with patch clamp recordings, in vivo fluorescence imaging as well as some practical knowledge of programming (MATLAB, LabVIEW). Inclination towards physics, optics and building optical devices is desirable.
