The international PhD College SPIN – Signal Processing in Neurons announces 1 PhD fellowship in Neuroscience. The program is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and is jointly run by the Medical University of Innsbruck and the University of Innsbruck

The successful applicant will study the role of the Nogo66 receptor in signaling processes during axonal pathfinding and after peripheral nerve injury. The project relies on an integrative approach that combines molecular, genetic, and biochemical methods with in vitro and in vivo imaging techniques and behavioral assays in mice.

The candidate should be highly motivated, with a strong attitude towards independent work and must hold good interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants should have a strong background in molecular, cell biology and/or neuroscience, preferably with experience in cell cultivation. Fluency in English and the ability to work in an international environment are expected. The salary is 2.045,10 € gross income per month (30h per week) according to the FWF scale.
