DescriptionWe are seeking a talented, highly motivated and ambitious PhD candidate with experience in one or several of the following methods: Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA-methylation assays, RT-PCR, Western-Blot, immunohistochemistry/confocal microscopy, behavioral analysis.
The aim of the project is to unravel epigenetic mechanisms underlying stress vulnerability, resilience and the transgenerational transmission of early life trauma in an animal model of childhood maltreatment. Our research focus is on histone modifications and DNA-methylation, affecting gene expression in developing neurons in the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus and the amygdala. The candidate will join a dynamic team, which is part of an international interdisciplinary research consortium of neurobiologists, psychologists and psychiatrists.
