Postdoctoral Position in Neurophisiology San Raffaele Scientific Institute

Description The neurophysiology of the gut-brain axis. The newly established lab of Federico Esposti at the prestigious San Raffaele Hospital and Scientific Institute in Milan, is looking for a highly motivated and skilled postdoc. We are interested in understanding how the central nervous system responds to information deriving from the gastrointestinal tract, signaling the presence of different foods and the activity of different bacterial populations. We use last-generation in-vivo imaging techniques (2-photon microscopy calcium imaging of neuronal activity and functional ultrasonographic imaging) on mice to obtain real-time information of gastrointestinal information processing in the brain. The ideal candidate has a PhD degree in Life Sciences, a strong background in neuroscience and bioimaging. A competitive salary and access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided.
