About Nevada State College
Nevada State College (NSC) is a four-year public college located on a 500-acre campus in the foothills of Henderson, Nevada (adjacent to Las Vegas). Our faculty members enjoy the rare opportunity to shape the college as it continues to grow into a cornerstone of higher education in Southern Nevada. As a teaching-oriented institution, we focus on high-quality instruction, engaging learning experiences, and creative techniques to improve student learning. We seek a colleague who is passionate about teaching and wants to make a lasting impact developing our young institution.

NSC faculty enjoy teaching in modern buildings with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories (which include Sympodium, lecture capture, and 3-D technologies), and an average class size of 27 students. For more information about NSC, watch this video about student life at NSC.

NSC serves approximately 3,500 students who are highly diverse and largely underserved-a majority of our students are nontraditional, first generation, or racial/ethnic minorities. At Nevada State College, we celebrate the storied backgrounds of our campus community. We operate with a shared commitment to represent and serve the diverse population of Nevada and to encourage the exchange of ideas that respects and honors the lived experiences of our students, staff, and faculty. We foster a culture of inclusive excellence so our members can live authentically, fully engage, and flourish. In order to strengthen the college and progress its mission, the college dedicates itself to intentional and ongoing reflection to meeting the evolving needs of NSC, the surrounding communities, and the State of Nevada.

About Psychology at NSC:
Our psychology program is housed within the Department of Social Sciences and serves over 300 psychology majors, 120 psychology minors, and 60 counseling minors. We are dedicated to providing students with rigorous academic preparation in the science of psychology. For example, all majors are required to complete a capstone course in either advanced research methods or supervised clinical field experience. This preparation emphasizes an empirical approach to the study of psychology with a concerted focus on the use of research methodology and evidence-based strategies to better understand and solve problems. Ultimately, we aim to cultivate well-rounded students with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and lifelong learning skills needed to succeed in the workplace and/or in graduate school.
