Position Details
|
The Department of Neurological Surgery, School of Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Research Assistant Professor (outside the tenure stream). This position is available October 1, 2017 and requires a PhD neuroscientist with experience in experimental traumatic brain injury research. This position will conduct basic and translational research in our Brain Trauma Research Center. Research expertise in the mechanisms of neurotransmitter release, protein biochemistry, histopathology, confocal microscopy, and transgenic models of human neuropathology is an asset .
Qualifications include a PhD in neurosciences and a track record for conducting basic and translational research in this field with successful or promising submissions to NIH and other sponsors. A proven history of publication in peer-reviewed neurological journals is required. All applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
