SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division The Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED), an academic arm of the School of Continuing Education, is the premier provider of early childhood and primary school teacher education in Hong Kong. It currently offers a range of academic programmes on a full-time or part-time basis to 2,000 students pursuing courses with qualifications awarded from certificate to postgraduate levels. Its training programmes on early childhood education are supported by the Hong Kong Baptist University Kindergarten which provides a training platform for the students of ECE programmes. Applications are now invited for the following positions: Lecturer I / Lecturer II in the following disciplines: i. Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Curriculum Planning (PR056/17-18) ii. Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Early Childhood Education (PR057/17-18) iii. Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Early Literacy/Language Education (PR058/17-18) iv. Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Education Psychology (PR059/17-18) v. Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Physical Education for Young Children (PR060/17-18) The appointees are expected to perform the following duties and to ensure quality of teaching and learning: a) teach in his/her fields of studies; b) plan, co-ordinate and design curriculum; c) co-ordinate and train part-time teaching staff; d) supervise students on research projects and teaching practice; and e) provide guidance and counselling services to students. Applicants should possess a higher degree and preference will be given to those holding a doctoral degree. Holder of Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education is considered advantageous. Candidates with work experience in higher education/early childhood education/special needs education/student services will be highly desirable. Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work outside normal working hours are also essential. Reference salary range: Lecturer I : HK$45,000 - HK$71,000 Lecturer II : HK$33,000 - HK$43,000 Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
