The Central Institute for Mental Health (ZI) is an internationally recognized psychiatric / neuroscientific research institute, psychiatric-psychotherapeutic-psychosomatic faculty of the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg, as well as a psychiatric-psychotherapeutic-add-medical clinic with university orientation. At the ZI, there are 349 fully-staffed beds and treatment centers spread over four clinics: psychiatry and psychotherapy including gerontopsychiatry, psychosomatics and psychotherapeutic medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy of children and adolescents, dependent behavior and addiction medicine. Within the framework of a multi-year new project, there is a gradual increase to a total of approximately 390 beds and treatment areas. This growth will enable the establishment of new therapies and outpatient inpatient care concepts. At the same time, the new Center for Innovative Psychiatry and Psychotherapist Research is developing a significant expansion of our research-oriented research structures.
The W 3 professorship for "Psychiatry and Psychotherapy" is located in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (Prof. Dr. Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg). The professorship has the department of biological psychiatry in research and teaching to represent and is integrated into the ongoing research centers of the ZI and the Medical Faculty Mannheim. We are looking for a personality with a systemneurobiological focus with relevance for the pathophysiology, therapy and prevention of psychiatric disorders. If appropriate, there is also the possibility of a clinical activity.

The appointment is a joint appointment in the Jülich model (appointment to the University of Heidelberg, leave leave to the Central Institute for Mental Health Mannheim). The position is available indefinitely.
