UNIVERSITY LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY

 

The Faculty of Medicine promotes high-quality scientific research and is responsible for research-based basic and continuing education in medicine and dental medicine, psychology and logopedics, and the Transmed Masters Program in English. In addition to teaching and research, the faculty also acts as a major expert organization in the healthcare sector and participates in ethical discussion in the field. The aim of the faculty is to reach the level of the best medical faculties in the world and consolidate and strengthen its position as a center of excellence in medical education.

 

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki, together with the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS / HYKS) and the Institute of Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), form the Academic Medical Center Helsinki (AMCH). This medical unit has been very successful in international assessments, including the European 10 and the 50 best medicine camps in the world.

 

The Department of Psychology and Logopedics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki is seeking

 

UNIVERSITY
LECTOR for fixed-term employment between 1 August 2018 and 31 December 2020. Teaching language Finnish. The task is psychology.

 

The lecturer is placed in the field of clinical skills in psychology.

 

University Lecturers are expected to have good working life links and extensive expertise in current topics related to the content and development of clinical teaching. The University Lecturer is responsible, for example, for the organization of a working life cycle in the field of psychology and the related teaching. She is involved in teaching interviews and interaction skills, developing teaching and assessment, and organizing interviews and clinical work-related courses in the Master's Thesis with experts from different fields. He or she may also be responsible for teaching such a course yourself. University lecturers are also expected to have good teaching skills and active research activities.

 

The candidate is required to have the qualifications of the psychologist and according to the University of Helsinki's guiding rules and the appropriate doctoral degree, the ability to provide high-quality research-based instruction and to guide the theses.

 

When evaluating the earnings of applicants, the scientific publications and other scientific activities, teaching experience and pedagogical training, teaching development projects, the ability to produce learning materials and other gains achieved through the teaching process and, where appropriate, the teaching sample, are taken into account.

 

According to the University Regulations, a university lecturer is required to master the language, Finnish or Swedish to which he teaches. He / she must have at least satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish and Swedish. Foreign nationals or Finnish citizens who are not native or who have not received their education in Finnish or Swedish can be granted without a separate application for a derogation from this language proficiency requirement. Successful management of the task also requires good English language skills.

 

The salary of the University Lecturer is based on the level 5-7 of the demand level map of the teaching and research staff of the payroll system of the University. In addition, a payroll based on personal performance is paid. The probation period is used to fill the task.
