CYP-IAPT is an acronym for the Child and Young Peoples Programme for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies. It is a service transformation programme led by NHS England of which a large part is training for managers, supervisors and clinicians who are implementing CYP-IAPT. The courses are funded by Health Education England. Students are staff from the NHS, local authority and Voluntary Organisations who are part of the CYP IAPT collaboration. THE CYP-CWP Programme is part of CYP-IAPT and is a new course which started in 2017 to train graduate entry practitioners to the child and young people mental health workforce. It is a key part of the Future in Mind proposals to increase the workforce set out by the government in 2015. The students for the course will be recruited by partnerships within the CYP-IAPT Collaborative and will be employees of these partnerships.

 

This post will have a key role in coordinating, managing, monitoring and ensuring integration between different components of the CWP training: teaching in the University and practice experience in the work setting. The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead for CWP in the London and south-east CYP-IAPT Learning Collaborative in developing the CWP service model. The post will comprise liaising with the Collaborative Project Team, contributing to teaching on the CWP programme, acting as personal tutor; and supporting CWP practice within work settings. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to delivery of other CYP-IAPT programmes.

 

Applicants should possess a doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained before 1996) and be HPC registered. Also essential are experience in managing service development projects and staff; a high level of expertise in implementing a core evidence based therapy with children, young people & families; knowledge and commitment to the CYP IAPT programme and principles & experience in supervising qualified child mental health practitioners working with children and young people.
It may be possible to offer this post as a secondment opportunity, dependent on the substantive NHS Trust employer.

The salary will be paid at Clinical Psychologist 2 grade, £50,617 to £60,409 per annum pro rata, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance pro rata.

 

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 1 year.

 

This is a Part-time post – up to 60% full time equivalent.

 

The selection process will include a panel interview.
