Job No.: 593454 Location: Clayton campus Employment Type: Sessional Duration: Casual appointment Remuneration: The rates of pay for sessional staff are set out in the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic and Professional Staff) 2014 The Opportunity Monash University’s School of Psychological Sciences is seeking to appoint Part Time online sessional research supervisors, for students conducting a research project within the Graduate Diploma in Psychology - Advanced (GDPA). The GDPA is a fully online Honours' equivalent Psychology Fourth year course which includes a significant research component. GDPA supervisors create research projects within their area of research expertise and interest, which groups of students work on individual versions of. The GDPA has a unique course structure, with units running in 6-week teaching periods with students taking a 2-week break in between each offering. Research unit offerings are interleaved with coursework unit offerings. As a GDPA supervisor, you will supervise students throughout the duration of their research project units. This takes about 12 months to complete overall, spread across three research teaching periods throughout the year. There is also the opportunity for GDPA research supervisors to teach GDPA course units during non-research unit teaching periods. The next cohort of GDPA research thesis students commences in late August, and we need supervisors in a wide range of innovative and interesting research domains: 1. Antisociality and Prosociality This is a great opportunity for researchers and other academics who have a strong interest in using their skills to support and supervise students, and to progress their careers in an innovative, flexible and supportive online education environment. The GDPA supervision role includes a weekly half hour online one on one supervision session with each student, email student contact, and marking. The time commitment varies between the equivalent of two to three days a week during research unit teaching periods (with breaks during the coursework offerings). GDPA students and supervisors are supported by online workbooks, and the Psychology Research Portal online research environment. Selection Criteria Essential criteria:
