Research Assistant/Data Collector, Department of Psychology Georgetown University, Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology, Georgetown College at Georgetown University, is home to a diverse and collaborative community of scholars who conduct research in psychology, neuroscience and public policy.  The department’s undergraduate program offers a major and minor in Psychology.  The Graduate program offers a five-year program of study in developmental science leading to a Ph.D. in Psychology.

 

 

 

The part-time Research Assistant/Data Collector is involved in recruiting and testing participants for a new NSF funded study looking at learning in monolingual and bilingual young children. S/he is trained to run memory flexibility, memory interference and cognitive flexibility studies and collect data in the field. Working closely with the Principal Investigator’s Research Program Coordinator and current Ph.D. Students, the Research Assistant/Data Collector has additional duties that include but are not limited to:

 

Prepares materials for families and maintains records.

Conducts field visits to the homes to collect data.

Collects data alongside undergraduates, graduate and other research personnel.

Participates in team meetings.

 

 

Qualifications

 

A BA/BS degree

Spanish speaking comprehension skills

Current driver’s license preferred

Prior research experience working directly with young children is preferred
