This Ph.D. position in Human Psychophysics and Neuroimaging (m/f/d; TV-L E13, 65%)is to investigate the processing of sensory information (visual, auditory, tactile and olfactory) in the human brain, and the use of this information to control body movements and cognitive decisions. Possible projects include, but are not limited to, visual attention (e.g., in visual search or object recognition experiments), visual recognition/discrimination (e.g., in color vision, stereo/dichoptic vision, illusions in central and/or peripheral vision), and visual adaptation. Who we areWe use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate sensory and sensory-motor transforms in the brain (www.lizhaoping.org). Our approaches consist of both theoretical and experimental techniques including human psychophysics, animal behavior, imaging, electrophysiology and computational modelling. One part of our group is located in the University, in the Center for Integrative Neurosciences (CIN), and the other part is in the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics as the Department for Sensory and Sensorimotor Systems.
