Professorship in Auditory Neuroscience Carl Von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg Department for Neurosciences
The School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg invites applications for a Professorship (W2; m/f/d) Auditory Neuroscience to start as soon as possible. We seek a candidate with an internationally recognized track record in publication and successful grant acquisitions. The professorship should pursue basic experimental research in hearing. Experimental and computational approaches should be integrated. The use of state-of-the-art methods for controlling or modifying neural activity, and the study of neuronal populations, are of advantage. Close cooperation within our existing research centres and interdisciplinary research programmes, such as the Research Centre Neurosensory Sciences and the Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all is expected. The professorship will contribute to the teaching of biology and neuroscience, and related programmes. This includes teaching of statistics and programming skills. Teaching is expected at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in Bachelor-, Master- and PhD programmes. Teaching is in both English and German. Basic courses must be taught in German language within a reasonable period of time. Preconditions for employment are specified in § 25 NHG. To increase the proportion of women in science, equally qualified female candidates will be given preference. Equally qualified applicants with disabilities will be considered preferentially.
