CAMH is Canada’s largest academic health sciences centre and one of the world’s leading research centres in mental illness. Dedicated to improving the lives of patients today and tomorrow, CAMH is a leader in clinical care, research, education, and system building, nationally and globally. With a dedicated staff of more than 3,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators, and support staff, and more than 120 scientists, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 37,000 patients each year. The organization conducts groundbreaking research, provides expert training to health care professionals and scientists, develops innovative health promotion and prevention strategies, and advocates on public policy issues at all levels of government. Through its Foundation, CAMH is breaking ground in mental health philanthropy globally. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are top priorities at CAMH, and these priorities are at the heart of the One CAMH Strategic Plan.

The University of Toronto has one of the strongest research and teaching faculties in North America, and is consistently ranked as the top Canadian university in international rankings. The Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN), composed of the University and including CAMH amongst its nine fully affiliated institutes, is one of the world’s largest, most productive academic health science networks.

Launched in March 2020, womenmind™ is a community of philanthropists and thought leaders tackling the unique gender issues to help improve the mental health of girls and women. This is done by raising funds to support the recruitment of new scientists, cultivating early career start-up and mentorship programs, leveling gender bias, and sharing leading edge science on women’s mental health globally through international symposia. Inspired and empowered by CAMH’s research infrastructure and strategic plan, members of the womenmind community connect with and learn from each other while driving change for women’s mental health and women in science. (Note: At CAMH, the definition of women includes cisgender, transgender, and non-binary women).
