Research/Research Associate in Youth and Digital Media Research Singapore University of Technology and Design

The Youth and Digital Media research team at the Singapore University of Technology and Design works on research projects that aim to broadly understand how digital media can have meaningful impact on children and young people. We work on several projects, including the development of measures to examine preschoolers’ media diet quality, understanding how young people derive meaning from playing video games, and using an innovative approach – called screenomics – to understand mobile media use among youths.

For this position, we are looking to hire a Research Assistant or Research Associate on 1-year contract to be part of the ScreenLife Capture project. The responsibilities of this position include:

• Preparing for and implementing data collection
• Literature review and manuscript writing
• Data preparation and analysis
• Maintaining research records and managing administrative matters of the project
• Working with the technical team to manage software updates, changes, and issues

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Psychology, Communication, Computer Science, or in related subfields
• Interested in the study of digital media (video games, smartphones, livestreaming, etc.)
• Relevant experience in quantitative and qualitative research
• Familiarity with R or Python will be appreciated
• Proactive and able to work independently
