Position Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire a Neuropsychologist to work in the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and Memory and Brain Wellness Center (MBWC) at Harborview Medical Center. This is a full-time appointment at the Associate or Professor rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding). The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.

This role will oversee cognitive assessments and provide neuropsychology expertise within the ADRC Clinical Core and MBWC and lead clinical research operations focusing on enhancing service integration and participant diversity. Additionally, as Director of the Rural Brain Health Initiative, this role will develop rural memory care infrastructure and secure research funding. 

Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. 

The base salary range for this position in this title will be $11,685 - $18,517 per month ($140,220 to $222,204) per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by the U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2024.

Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • PhD or PsyD in counseling or clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology (or foreign equivalent) or MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in state of Washington.
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
